Clam on the Half Shell Day

I've never liked seafood, still don't.
But growing up JP loved clams, so, of course, we would have them for dinner quite often. I never looked forward to those meals, but I think I can handle these clams!

I used a candy mold to make the shells out of white chocolate. I rolled out my mini cake-pop balls and coated them in pearl decorating dust for the extra shimmer.
And do you want to know the secret trick?
While the chocolate was in the mold, I placed measuring spoons in the hardening chocolate to form a perfect indentation for the cake ball to rest.
The result: these cute little clams!
And you probably thought I was going to feature Ivar's or something.... Not a chance.

Thanks, Pam, for the authentic Ocean shells!

Doctors Day

If only a cake pop a day kept the doctor away...
wouldn't that be nice?

Lemon Chiffon Cake Day

What’s better than a regular old cake pop?
A lemon chiffon flavored cake pop of course!
I sprinkled with lemon zest for an added kick. Yum!

Something on a Stick Day

Every day is basically "Something on a Stick Day" around here with all of the cake pops we make.
But I thought we'd step it up a bit and pay tribute to those vendors you see at the fair or Bite of Seattle that sell alligator on a stick. Here's my version J

National Joe Day

This cake pop's name is Joe.
On this special day, Joe is going to enjoy is favorite drink: a hot cup of joe.
Little does Joe know that he is actually the perfect treat to go along with tihs particular beverage.
Saddly, Joe will not live through the end of the day that is named after him.

Make Up Your Own Holiday

It's Make Up Your Own Holiday Day, so I'm calling today:
"Taking The Day Off Day"

I'm tired and apparently so are all of the old cake pops from my previous photo shoots, because as you can see, they're picketing. They're taking the day off and so am I. I've earned it!

International Waffle Day

Now this is my idea of well-balanced breakfast.
Waffles with a side of cake pops.
Perfect!

Harry Houdini Day

Pulling a rabbit out of a hat wasn't exactly Houdini's specialty, but I bet we can make these cake pops disappear pretty quickly.

National Chip and Dip Day

Just in time for March Madness!
Enjoy a cake pop with your chips and dip while you also enjoy the Sweet 16.

National Goof Off Day

Shopping at The Dollar Store for the props was the best part about this post. Not to mention the fact that my kids celebrate "Goof Off Day" just about every day, so we mght as well make it official!

California Strawberry Day

I don't care for most fruits, but in this case I'll make an exception.

Sunday, March 20, 2011

Extraterrestrial Abduction Day

If you're going to be abducted by an alien, it might as well be the cake pop version of ET J

Saturday, March 19, 2011

National Poultry Day

Vegetarians can enjoy National Poultry Day.
Just have a cake pop!

*No animals were harmed in the making of these cake pops.

The rumor is that chocolate is a natural aphrodisiac.
I'm just sayin...

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Time to embrace my Irish roots...my maiden name is Hennesey after all.
Have a pint and a cake pop on me!

Incredible Kid Day

The cake pops speak for themselves on this one.
I'm fortunate enough to celebrate Incredible Kid Day with three of the very best!

Monday, March 14, 2011

Save a Spider Day

It's a double celebration day!
In most cases I have my husband kill all spiders that find their way into our house. In this case I'll have to make an exception!

Learn about Butterflies Day

Creating chocolate butterflies can be quite time consuming, but the payoff is worth it in the end.
They're unique because no two are ever alike and they're as delicious as they are beautiful to look at!

Ear Muff Day

The ear muffs are made out of gummy spaghetti and gummy apples. I also used white chocolate chips for the eyes to give them a bit more of a three dimensional look.

Saturday, March 12, 2011

Plant a Flower Day

The best part about this is that the "dirt" is really just cake crumbs...which can actually be used to make more cake pops! Talk a out the ultimate sustainable garden J

Johnny Appleseed Day

I find that using Jimmy sprinkles for hair usually ends up looking pretty good. And I thought that the usage of a stick and makeshift backpack was a nice touch here.
Plus, didn't Johnny Appleseed wear a pot on his head or something? Well in this version he is wearing a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. Close enough!
They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away..... I guess a cake pop is the next best thing!

Happy B-Day, Andrew! I can't believe you're already nine. You are growing up way too fast, we are so proud of you. Thanks for always being such a great kid J

National Crown Roast of Pork Day

This one was kinda tough and not very inspiring. I hope you get the idea though. For all you vegetarians out there, you can still celebrate Crown Roast of Pork Day...just have a cake pop!

Sunday, March 6, 2011

National Dentist Day

Believe it or not, the teeth in the picture is an actual mold taken from my mouth!
I love making teeth cake pops. I cut a banana Runt in half and stick it into the cake before coating it with chocolate. The result is a surprisingly realistic looking tooth J

Multiple Personality Day

There's nothing to be sad or angry about today.
Let a cake pop put a smile on your face!

Hug a GI Day

A real American Hero.

Thursday, March 3, 2011

Peach Blossom Day

The roots of Peach Blossom Day trace back to the Far East. A Doll Festival is held in every year on March 3rd, which coincides with when peach trees bloom in Japan.
If a peach blossom ever sprouted cake pops, it would probably look something like this!

Old Stuff Day

I love a good bargain and I love the Goodwill.
So, I only thought it fitting on "Old Stuff Day" to pay tribute to my favorite store!

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

National Pig Day

I ♥ vintage Fisher Price toys.
