Happy Birthday Eeyore!

Happy 48th Birthday, Eeyore!
Winnie the Pooh and the whole gang are classic and were always present at Andrew and Evan's birthday parites when they were little. It only seemed fair to return the favor and help celebrate Eeyore's big day!
After all, Eeyore could use something to smile about.

Save the Frogs Day

To raise awareness of the plight of amphibians, the scientific community declared April 29th, "Save The Frogs Day". Today is the 3rd annual event and there are events planned all over the world. The goal is to encourage the appreciation of amphibians by people from all walks of life.

As you might expect, we will be celebrating with a cake pop!

Wild Card Wednesday...Roll Out Your Mat, Its Yoga Appreciation Day!

Here at the Dellino house our other great love besides cake pops is....
The boys are great instructors! Evan loves to show off his Wheel and Andrew rocks the Plank. It’s been awhile since we've had a family class, but today is the day!

My little cake pop people have inspired me. So, roll out your mat and get ready! The cake pops prefer to use fruit roll ups for their mats..silly cake pops. Hopefully their not participating in Hot Yoga or else we'll have one sticky mess.
So....Relax, Breath, and Enjoy!

And I must end by saying the Cake Pop in me salutes the Cake Pop in you.

This one measures off the charts!
Happy Richter Scale Day.

World Penguin Day

These penguins came dressed for the occasion.
Who can resist a cake pop in a cute tuxedo?

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!
I hope the Easter Bunny brought you something special!

Bulldogs are Beautiful Day

The bulldog was actually much harder to make than anticipated, but he'll do for today.
I kind of think bulldogs get a bad wrap in general, so maybe it's nice that we can have a day where we look the other way on all the slobbering and aggressive behavior, and boost their spirits by showing them a little bit of love...if only for one day.

Earth Day

It's a double celebration day...
Happy Earth Day!
No real trees were harmed in the making of this post.

Girl Scout Leader Day

Every Girl Scout troop needs a good leader. And, today, that leader should be rewarded with a cake pop for the great job she is doing!

Look Alike Day

If the Olsen twins were cake pops...

Animal Cracker Day

Who doesn't love the crunch and sweetness of an animal cracker? And who doesn't love the yummy goodness of a chocolate cake pop? Put those two together and you get the best of both worlds!

Did you know that more than 40 million packages of animal crackers are sold around the world every year?
To celebrate National Animal Cracker Day, enjoy a box (or two) of Barnum's Animal Crackers, and grab a cake pop while you're at it!

Bat Appreciation Day

Aside from Halloween and the rare trip to the bat exhibit at the zoo, we generally don’t show bats much love throughout the year. Today I think I'll celebrate with a cake pop while I watch a Batman movie!

Record Store Day

Time to kick it old school and bring back the vinyl.
These cake pops have been flattened and tinted black with a white chocolate chip in the center to give it that vintage look. Classic and yummy all at the same time.
And, yes, that is a real Thriller record being used as a prop!

Record Store Day is a worldwide event that brings together fans, artists, and independent record stores across the US and around the world. Officially founded in 2007, conceived by independent record store employee Chris Brown (not the singer), its purpose is to celebrate the art of music.

What will you be spinning today?

Rubber Eraser Day

Erasers like these always remind me of elementary school.

I promise this eraser doesn't taste like rubber!

Look Up at the Sky Day

Look up at the sky. It's a bird. It's a plane.
It's a cake pop!

Scrabble Day

Happy Scrabble Day!

Family fun for everyone...usually. Even the most heated games can be settled by sharing a cake pop.
Pop.O.Licious is good for 17 points.
Sounds like a winner to me!

Licorice Day

Black Licorice and Cake Pops.
Two of my favorite sweets brought together on this one glorious day!

Cheese Fondue Day

A fondue cake pop...hmm...I think I just came up with my next million dollar idea!

Golfer's Day

Of course it's Golfer's Day!
It's the last day of the Masters Tournament, so what else would we be celebrating?

Just in time to kick back, grab a cake pop, and settle in to see if Tiger can make a charge on Sunday just like the good old days.

Cherish an Antique Day

This one was near and dear to my heart...literally.
No one loves a good antique piece of furniture like me and I definitely cherish every single one that my mom left behind. I have many fond memories of antique shopping with her.

These days I'm always on the look out for good deals on old antiques. How great that there's a day dedicated for it!

Draw a Picture of a Bird Day

I've never made birds before so these were kind of fun.
Using a small heart cookie cutter and angling the cake pop to a side made for a good bird profile.
The wings are jumbo hearts and the beaks are a chocolate crunch sprinkle.

Draw a picture of a bird today, or just eat a cake pop that looks like one!

National Beer Day

I have to say that we're not really beer drinkers in this not at all.

Nevertheless, I'll pay respect to the anniversary of the end of Prohibition. It's been said that on the evening of April 6, 1933, people lined up outside breweries and taverns, waiting for midnight when they could legally purchase beer for the first time in over 13 years.

I wonder if people would have lined up for cake pops too?

*It should be noted that these cake pops were promptly discarded after this shoot and not given to my kids because we don't promote underage drinking - or the eating of things that might send the wrong message J

Army Day

Happy Army Day!

Be all you can be.

Deep Dish Pizza Day

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, thats...
a cake pop!

I learned that Chicago-style, deep dish pizza originated in 1943 at Uno's Chicago Grill. They created deep dish as a way give hungry families a “real meal” when it came to pizza.

Annually celebrated on the anniversary of the day that the first restaurant opened outside of Chicago.

World Rat Day

It's another double celebration day!

We all know that if you give a mouse a cookie, he's going to want a glass of milk to go with it.
But what happens if you give a rat a cake pop?
I guess we'll just have to find out...

Did you know...World Rat Day is a relatively new holiday, initiated in 2002, as a day designed to recognize the "fancy rat" as a wonderful pet and companion animal for people of all ages? Nice...

Pillow Fight Day

There are conflicting reports on whether Pillow Fight Day is today or yesterday...but we're celebrating today!
So grab a pillow (these little cake pops grabbed marshmallows) find a friend and have at it. If things get out of hand, try making amends by sharing a cake pop!

Peanut Butter & Jelly Day

It's a double celebration day!

Always a classic and one of my husband's all-time favorites.
Formerly a house favorite, but these days my kids feel slighted when all they get is a PB&J sandwich.
I'm pretty sure they'd eat these though J

Children's Book Day

My boys love to read books, so today is right up their alley!
Right now Evan's favorites are the Fly Guy books by Tedd Arnold.
So, in honor of E-train, here are the two main characters from the series: Buzz Boy and Fly Guy.

April Fool's Day

So, instead of cake pops, today I thought I'd show off my other cooking talents.....
April Fools!!!
This isn't what it seems. The meatballs are the cake pops. The noodles and sauce are just frosting. And everything is sitting on a small round cake.
Inspired by the book, Hello, Cupcake.
I think I'll have dessert with my dinner today J
