Puppy Love Cake Pops

Puppies tend to get left out when you think about Valentine's Day,
but not this year!

Inspired by the two wonderful pups in my house, these "Puppy Love" cake pops are guaranteed to make you smile.

I shaped these the same way I made my Heart Shaped Box pops last year.

I flattened the cake/frosting mixture between two pieces of wax paper until about 1" thick. Then, I used the single heart cookie cutter in this set of mini Wilton cutters to create the shape of the pop.

After chilling, I placed the heart upside down on the stick so that it pointed up. I dipped them in pink candy melt, and placed Swedish Fish for the ears as they dried. I used confetti sprinkles for the tongue and cheeks, and a heart sprinkle for the nose. And finally, I used a black AmeriColor pen to draw on the eyes and freckles.

Finish it off with a cute little bow, and your puppy pops are all set.
These puppy love pops are made with no bark, all bite, and lots of love!

    1. Thanks, Karen! So glad you like them. We had a lot of fun doing the daily cake pops. But with a 2 year old, and a 4 month old, plus two older kids in the house, life has gotten a little too busy :) Still having fun making them when I find the chance!

  3. Joey, you *know* I'm always going to hat-tip your stuff: Joey's Puppy Love Cake Pops. I just love the offbeat takes. I was kinda expecting you to do Super Bowl cake pops involving bowls-with-capes ;)
